fuzzypigeon
Have you broken the wings....... If so u should be able to turn the wing upside down push the wing into the 'c' on top of each section then turn the wing over back to the original position which should put the top of the 'c' through the wing and hey presto
steveyg
As a newbie myself... fitting a bird on a flapper isn't easy it looks a piece of cake if you watch the videos on u tube...a couple of elastic bands work wonders. Its worth persevering, these work a treat
bunybasher1000
the original ones had pieces of rubber tubing that u push on to retain the wings not the c bend they have now.
lakeside1000
I think the origonal AA Decoys flapper is very poor, I bought one as I couldn't afford the turbo, Its almost impossible to keep the wings attached to the arms, both broken and pierced but still fall off, the 'c' bend was next to usless as the wing just slip down the arm, my own mod was to bend the 'c' into an 'o' then thread a flight feather through it and tie it off, this holds the wing out much straighter but when the wind blows the wings lift up but wont come down on their own, I had to put an elastic band from one wing to the other under the frame to create a tension to return the wings to the bottom of the flap, it also runs far too slowly, every time i've used it, it seems to spook the pigeons as they approach, I've tried altering the position relative to the decoys but nothing works, as they flap non stop this also seemed unnatural so I invested in a timer which runs 5 seconds on then 5 off, still no good, I also bought one of their rotory magnets, that also runs very slow and is not natural flying speed for the pigeon, i've changed the battery twice but it makes no difference, Ive just bought a pair of Hypaflap decoys to try on it to get more wing movement with less weight, fingers crossed it will improve, the rotary seams to be well made if a little heavy, but the flapper is just a load of bent wire soldered together, even the wing movement from top to bottom appears very short, a real bird landing has about 120 degree angle from top to bottom, the flapper only manages about 30 degrees at best. Having said all that, my friend has the turbo flapper and thinks its great, has a very different movement and much faster wing speed, if possible 'try before you buy' wish I had. KFC
Do you have it the right way up? The central spike should be bent upwards. If it's pointing down then the wings will slip off or slip down the wire.
woodpigeon100
Rather than using rubber/ plasic tubing if you cut 20mm discs from a 4 pint milk bottle and make a small hole in them you can secure the wings well, they are only single use but free and you can carry dozens. Also works for magnets on windy days.
Gilberts1989
My AA flapper has brought countless birds into my pattern, in fact they land right next to it.
