Thanks for the intro ,ANGOF, never come across MrDaveratz before but spent nearly an hour watching the clips. To my mind these are up with the best Airgun shooting clips on the net-the guy uses a sub 12ft/lb gun and shoots the same quarry that most of us do. I also like the lack of editing-this is how most people speak in the real world and Dave calls a spade a spade if that's what it is and doesn't pander to the concerns of those who consider swearing a crime. Great clips, Dave, now go and show the rest how its done :good:

hi Brian,

just let me speak from My experience,, they are both excellent air rifle shots and this as you said is down to using the rifles they use many times on targets and also on live quarry,

I probably put approx. 800+ pellets through my rifles out in the field every week on targets so as to get as real a shooting situation, what with wind etc, now as accurate as my rifles are and as accurate as I can shoot them and believe me I,m not bad, I still refuse to shoot rabbits over 40yrds with a sub 12 air rifle, Mr pittaway is a very good shot I can appreciate that but to put 55yrd RISKY shots up on his channel(with a tuned springer as well) is TO ME not showing him in a good light because you know what will happen, kids and some idiots will start shooting at quarry out to all sorts of ranges and lets be honest about this they will not realise the effort si puts in to be the shot he is,

to me if your going to shoot rabbits out to 55yrds then you should not be using a sub 12ftlb air rifle you should be using FAC be it air rifle or .22 rf or .17hmr. I am not saying it cant be done at all what I,m saying is the chances of wounding the animal are greatly increased and its a multitude of things that will cause the pellet to be off its target at that distance,Do you think that shows air rifle hunting in good light because if you do I would have to disagree

with regards being envious of him sorry that's not me. I probably spend more hours per week improving and practicing my air rifle accuracy than si does be it on targets or out in the field on targets and also live quarry and believe me you can Never over practice, but to say people cant do what he does is not true,

he is a good shot yes but please lets not show the daft shots at 55yrds sub 12ftlb to people on you tube who have nowhere near his experience. it will like everything else be copied by inexperience shots and we will have rabbits running round all over the country with pellets in their sides causing suffering that they don't deserve .Please for one minute don't think I,m saying it cant be done because it can but he will miss or wound more than he drops.

this is my opinion and I,m sorry if you disagree but this is how I shoot, my quarry will always come first to me and if I cant get close enough to it using my field craft then I don't take a risky shot , its as simple as that, its got nothing to do with being envious or jealous

all the best Evo

hence my comment on davy being a credit to airgunning he does not take shots out of his comfort zone and always makes sure its a killing shot ok he is a bit slow at times but better that than wounding and like you say anyone can watch these clips atb tony

si pitt taking shots at 55yd+ plus is ok if paper punching with sub 12ft springer, but not on live quarry

We did tests 20yr+ ago through chrono out at 50m and the readings where not clever at long ranges, to say the least.

Might get the chrono out cupboard for simple test an let you decide 30m-40m-50m-60m see what ftlb at those ranges

Hi, Evo, i respect your opinion, and we all have diverse 0pinions, thats what makes airgun forums work, its only the keyboard warriors who get stirred up by a different opinion to themselves ,they provide much amusement to us all, tolerance of others peoples views would make the world a fer better place IMHO.
