njc110381
I was shooting again today at the clay club (don't ask how I got on!) and a chap let me have a hand full of his carts to use because I'd fired all of mine. They are called Eley olympic trap, and are 28g of 7.5 shot. I hit with every one I fired, so I've found a confidence booster I think! He said that if I want some, he'll let me have 1000 of his for £90. He's just bought 60k of them and doesn't know where to put them all! I'm thinking this is a good deal, what do you think? Lord Geordie
For Olympic Traps thats a good price I used to use them earlier in the year but they started to leave metal filings in the firing pin holes and caused the gun to mis fire so i stopped using them. Everyone else swore by them as a cheap cheerful clay buster and they did well in the semi auto too LG
njc110381
I'll give them a try then I think. Maybe you just got a bad batch or something. They seem to recoil slightly harder than the saga skeet carts that I've been using, but I'm not too bothered about recoil as long as it isn't painful. I'm loving shooting with a shotty, even when I hit nothing I still have a good time. It's a new challenge for me

I'm thinking this is a good deal, what do you think? i buy these cartridges as well but use them for the pigeons to i put one e/trap in first barrel and a 30 gram clear pigen in the second barrel i think this makes sence as the bird should be over the decoys with first shot hence lesser load cartridge and the higher load for second shot when the bird is a bit further away ps i pay the same as you and yes they are good value for money imo happy days

VicW
I have been using Olympic Trap for about 6 months without problems or without detriment to my scores.I am paying £94/1000 and think they are excellent value for money.I was using Express HV before that but at the last price rise looked around for something else.Another good cartridge at the cheaper end of the scale are Diana or Rottweil for about the same price.Be aware that they are European so the shot sizes are slightly smaller,if you use UK 7.5 then buy 8's.
