Themacclad
Can anyone recommend a pellet for the Stoeger X20 Suppressor. I've tried Accupels and Superdomes but I can't get any consistency, shots are randomly dropping a few inches, even at 20 yards. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you
harry69koi
I use Daystate Rangemaster Li`s m8ty with good grouping found air arms .22 hunter as nice pellet aswell, but as you may know what suits one airrifle might not suit another Those trial packs you can buy are the best bet for pellet fussy rifles Lee

secretagentmole
Is it the gun or is it you? Before you start condemning guns and pellets, try to be consistent. How many shots do you fire before one suddenly drops?

How many shots do you fire before one suddenly drops? Thanks for the reply. I am no expert with this gun and have only put about 1200 pellets through it, I'm shooting paper targets from the kitchen window which is almost as good as a bench rest. I would say that about 40% shoot a good few inches low. The rest are generally on the bull. Any ideas ?
secretagentmole
Aha! Spring powered rifles are not really meant to be shot off of rests or bipods. You should be shooting off of a cushion on the widow sill! it is a question of support, even an inch different hold can affect the point of impact with a springer! Apologies, I should of said that the gun is resting on a cushion on the window sill with my elbow planted on the kitchen sink. Could you explain "even an inch different hold can affect the point of impact with a springer" please.
secretagentmole
Springers recoil, if you hold it even a centimetre different, the point of axis it can move on will be different if you are holding the gun tightly! aga man
You say droping a few inches,,,,,,, that sounds like something is wrong to me! Themacclad
me too! if you can access a chronoghraph give it a try and see how consistant the muzzle power is. That is a good call and will look into it, it does at times make some strange noises when fired, as if it was empty!! However I think secretgaentmole's links did provide some good info that I had not previously considered. Thanks Aga Man

bruno22rf
Use an old telephone directory and draw 10 circles about 5mm wide evenly across the front cover-shoot one pellet at each target and count the pages that each pellet has penetrated-should soon show if any major drops in power are the cause. Theskyfox
Hi, I'm currently using Logun Penetrators in both my 177 and 22 rifles. There is certainly a lot to be said about technique. On my PCP in particular, I was finding that at home I was snatching the trigger and pulling to the right. This in turn had an effect on my accuracy. When I then took the gun down the range and used a bench rest..I suddenly found that I was putting pellets through the same hole consistently. Even simple things such as squeezing the trigger with the wrong part of your finger can have a big effect! -Andrew
