Linnaeus is the name of the man who classified the trout, and the number the date If you look at the cutthroat trout you will see what I mean. I'm not sure if I am still wrong but, I think you are right, they all have the same biggest catch loaction and weight. It is interesting to know that the wild brown does differ from the brown trout. In the case where the "discover" is being given credit his name appears in brackets, such as in the Artic Char Salvelinus alpinus (Linnaeus), Brook Trout Salvelinus fontinalis ( Mitchill).
