Dbw1shrops
Hi all just recently the revs are sticking inbetween gear changes ? At first I thought maybe its the air flow meter but it doesn't fluctuate on tickover I recently put some redex injector cleaner but I don't think this would relate to the problem? Any thoughts or comments will be appreciated cheers lads 👍
aga man
check for obvious first like any vaccum pipes off around the air intake manifold and theres one on the air filter box. the throttle is fly by wire on these, so could need a specialist with dianostic equipment. i doubt the redex would affect it. all of the above are a guess, i have never suffered this fault and i,m not a mechanic. it's just where i would start looking. aga man. goldypurple
I'd say the throttle petenciomiter is at fault or playing up
Paul223
I'd say the throttle petenciomiter is at fault or playing up indeed, but surely you'd check the loom for oil first, then get it pluged in to cofirm throttle demand at idle
al4x
indeed, but surely you'd check the loom for oil first, then get it pluged in to cofirm throttle demand at idle Come on that sounds too logical for a landrover owner, isn't there something you can hit with a hammer? Animal Mother
Thanks for all your comments lads they are all appreciated as for the faulty clutch switch is it a big job or can a novice like myself do it and are they expensive ? Thanks again all Dave It's about £18 and should be easy to replace as it's on the clutch master cylinder. I think part number is MSK500020 or MSK100050. Dbw1shrops
Well lads took it to salop 4x4 (Shrewsbury) they took it for a drive and it didn't play up ! Typical when he was in it I was at the shop asking the price of a injector harness and he said if its not misfiring he doubted I would need one ? FairPlay I thought he came back and I asked him if he would have a look at the red plug no probs he said then he called me over to take a look you guessed it full of oil 😱so he put me a new harness and gasket on charged £137 which I thought wasn't to bad as I've heard of people being charged twice the amount for it . Well it all seems ok now so a big 👍for salop 4x4 and thanks everyone on PW for taking the time to comment on my problem cheers Dave Edited August 6, 2013 by Dbw1shrops
