Walker56
Is there any members who order from siarm , the question I have is there website says at the top , prices are excluding vat is there a way of seeing how much the order would be before going through checkout . Or what percentage do the Italians charge vat.
EMcC
I've never heard of siarm, what is it a shop or a place ?
BooBooEH
I have made several large orders from Siarm... spend over 400 euros and get free delivery. The price is not including VAT, which is only added at the checkout... so just add 20% to the basket price. Delivery takes about 7 days. I have spoken to them about advice on several occasions and they are a great company to deal with (and I wish my Italian was as good as Simone's English). The only thing that is not available is powder. Shot is very competitive per 12kg... and primers are something like £26 per thou for 615 / 616. Wad prices are a half if not more than UK prices!!! Happy shopping :-) Simon

EMcC
Wow, That looks like a good site, thanks for that, I may end up finding something there that I didn't know I needed !!
BooBooEH
Be aware that shot sizes are Italian - the technical page gives comparison dimensions... as well as some interesting sets of load data. If looking to buy within the UK then Clay and Game are good for powder (5kg = free delivery), whilst FES frequently have some interesting special offers at a good price. Everything else for me at least comes from Siarm, including MEC presses which are also far cheaper across the range. Simon
Andy H
Here is an example for you ,From siarm 1000 410 cork wad's cost me 7-20 per 1000 plus the 20% italian vat so 8-40 plus shipping(I do not only order 1000 410 wad's) over here it is 25-00 per 1000 plus postage plus the fact you can order primer's from them a lot cheaper than in the UK with no Haz mat fee lumped on top of the shipping cost's. Clay and game together with Folkstone engineering (FES) buy their product's from Siarm. Edited August 4, 2013 by Andy H

Don't think he gets his powder or primers or shot from there, he takes a long journey to Lyalavale and Fiocchi UK up here in the midlands which is great because he can drop stuff off to me on the way home

sitsinhedges
ive just been looking at cases on siarm but i dont know what SHIVED means can anyone explain please. I think shrived means skived. It's where the inside of the case mouth is thinned down to help them crimp more easily.

ThePestControllers
i was going to do that but i was unsure about using different cases with different wads and powder. my problem is that i want to buy a load of wads and primers and powder and would like to buy just 1 type to suit everything i am loading. i have a couple of thousand hull hight pheasant but they have big brass and peoplehave said they are not good in the mec 9000 press. i have a thousand clear pigeon. so i was thinking if i went to the clay ground would i end up with a lot of cases i could not use as i have never done it i dont know how it works it all new to me. so my thinking was to start from a level playing field so all things are equal. if you get my point. cheers Daz

You tend to get a lot of shells of the same type and of the better brands. I just treat all 70mm parallel tube type cases as the same but choose the ones that crimp the best. Shells that have already been crimped once will be easier to use than a new case too because your machine will just follow the old lines. I have reused Black Gold cases and they worked well though I understood that the recoil reducing basewad only works for the first shot. The plastic is good and thick on these but I still chuck them after the first reload cos the plastic will still split on the crimp lines from reuse
Livefast123
When you buy primers from Siarm is the postage really expensive like here in the UK or does the price remain the same?

It's done by weight only there is no hazmat surcharge. I'm looking at buying some primers myself. Unfortunately not enough to get me completely free postage but I recall I can get industrial 614 primers for a little as £25/1000 delivered if I max out the postage weight allowance. biketestace
Siarm are a great company, As already mentioned, Simone is very helpful, My last order only took 5 days to arrive, I think the order has to be over 500 euro to get free shipping ? The best bet is to do a joint order with someone nearby ? Bta Edited August 4, 2013 by biketestace

I do like the idea of bin diving for used cases aswell do you think the DTL shooters use better quality carts , I know when I go shooting sporting I tend to used cheaper carts like eley first and the bins are usually full of similar . Will have to look in the DTL bins next time;-).

BooBooEH
With regards to cases, I personally cut off the old crimp using a Trim Doctor from BPI. All once fired cases are then roll crimped on reloading - a much neater affair. As for components, build up a load that serves your purpose and then buy these components in bulk from Siarm. Free carriage from SIARM kicks in at 500 euro, so that's about 420 euro in the basket (plus tax at the checkout). I mainly use fibre wad loads for both clay and game... so a Sizemaster wins hands down as all cases are manually moved and hence open to having the wad installed etc. Best wishes, Simon
