stuartbrierley Posted August 30, 2013 Report Share Posted August 30, 2013 hi folks got this old gun diana g80 (milbro) in a sorry state plenty of rust and plenty of flaking varnish plus front sight missing, any way rubbed the stock down to the bare wood different grades of sandpaper and stained with indian rosewood stain .kept to just fine sanding after each coat then rubbed boiled linseed oil wearing latex gloves very little goes a long way the barrel was just surface rust not pitted rubbed down with emery cloth and then wire wool (fine) the barrel ended up silver i then polished untill it was realy smooth then did about 5 coats of gun blue after each coat just softley a once over with the wool i then tryed to sorce a front sight no luck anywere (main spare dealers )then got a email off bruno22rf saying he had the front sight which he posted firstclass recorded free of charge (top man)thanks again so here is the old gun with new look plus new spring hope you like Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
