al4x
Must be unlucky then but I have had two sets as john Norris replace the first. I do walk a lot in boots but 3 months for each pair was silly and I didn't bother sending the second lot back
Flashman
Although they are comfortable, I don't think any wellington boot has the durability of a proper walking/hiking boot. The shank isn't as strong and the sides of the wellington don't have the support and strength of their walking cousins. I'm afraid it's boots and gaiters for high volume work - or dirt cheap wellies bought on the basis that they'll fall apart and expensive wellingtons for driven days only. Dunkield
I wear walking boots whenever I can, but when I wear wellies I do walk in them a lot, so the Vibram sole of the Seelands was one of the selling points, that the longevity of the ones mentioned above. scotslad
Must admit i wear welly's almost every day and just wear cheap dunlop surefoot ones about 30 odd quid, or occasional splash out for a pair of grubbs, do everything u expect of a wellie (Did buy a pair off musto's once on special offer still sitting in cupboard scared to wear them incase i rip them) If ur going to spend 200+ quid i would not waste it on a welly boot, most of the top end leather boots now are (allegedly) waterproof now, far comfier, i wear a pair of yeti gaiters as well so even if ur boots are not 100% waterproof the gaiters are so u still have dry feet

leeds chimp
This is starting to sound like the Magnum Hi-Tec thread. As well as an old ever lasting pair of those I also have a pair of similar vintage Le Shameaus which appear to be going on forever. I must have bought a load of shoes in those days! I can't speak for these two brands but have to agree that other well known modern brands do not have the lasting power of their earlier offerings. And I pint blank refuse to pay £100 or more for any pair of shoes/boots, perhaps that's where I'm going wrong. i wear the magnum classics for work ...first pair lasted 2 years going thru everything....last three pairs last about a year each and not even worked hard
Tomcantwell
I'm a landscape gardener, I wear my le chams every day, even in the middle of summer, I've yet to find a more comfortable shoe. After a year of use im starting to wear down the tread but I'd buy a new pair without considering anything else.
