Catamong
Can we use drastic plastic ***** carts or fibres? Hmm, so many questions Use whatever you like, provided the load does not exceed 28 grams, shot size 6 to 9. I ALWAYS use plastic wads on clays, I don't have a lot of confidence in fibre wads. Cat. pin
I picked up a box of express hi velocity plastics today, most of the clay shoots I have been to only allow fibre but I have shot those before and had ok results with them - so those I will take. Its a shame as I have read about how much better plastic is for patterning and speed etc, but being used to fibres I don't know if I should just stick to what I know, or have bother with lead until I figure out the plastics. I know the answer, I am faffing like a woman. I'll take the express and see what happens

Very testing conditions, cat shot very well to take high gun and the dosh I know he's planning on naming and shaming later on with the sporting / skeet and DTL scores going up so I won't steal his thunder
Mungler
Top day despite the wind (I really shouldn't have those onion rings last night) and the weather was a bit gusty as well. Anyhows, great day as ever and especially good to see Cat in action and how it should be done. Scores to follow - I will get my excuses in now: ESP too many layers on which got in the way of the gun mount (shot like Stevie Wonder wearing boxing gloves), Skeet 32" barrels with 1/2 and 3/4 choke and 7.5's 28g (bad workman and his tools etc), DTL well the force was working for me and when I opened my eyes I missed. Dartford is a top ground - mental note - sausage french better than the bacon sandwich. Deffo should do this again - especially as Dartford is 15 mins from me. Jonsey
Thank you Cat, Mungler, Pin and Tosspot for brilliant company and a great day out. I can't remember the last time I was that cold, I was almost home before I'd warmed up. Brrrrr! very windy and cold day indeed. Well done Cat on High Gun..... I'm hanging my head in shame at my DTL and Skeet scores.........
pin
Jonesy your ESP card more than made up for that, it wasn't a high scoring day with the wind so the score you put in was extremely good.
Catamong
Well I ordered dry weather for the day, but forget to tick the box that said no wind, and it blew a hooley, those that have shot at Dartford before know that it's renown for being a bit windy, thank God I was upwind of Mungler after his Saturday night special at the Balti House..!! We arrived at the ground expecting to shoot a 100 bird Registered as advertised, unfortunately the equipment at the ground had suffered serious damage from the gale the previous Thursday, with two towers blown over, also the roof over the UT layout had been blown right off, there must have been thousands of quids worth of damage, so the shoot had been scaled down to a 70 birder. We enjoyed a cuppa and bacon sarnie in their very nice log cabin style clubhouse, (why can't all grounds have facilities to that standard..??), then meandered down to the Sporting layout, 7 stands of 10 birds, stand 1 was a nasty on report pair of left to right crossers with the wind up their bums, so going like hell. Nobody discraced them selves on that stand, star performer was Jonsey, who shot very steady, but missed the last pair clean..!! The one stand that most of us had a problem with was a longish, slow, right to left rabbit, with a left to right high quartering looper on report, everybody screwed up there with the exception of Pin who was powdering the looper. By the time we reached stand 7, we were all pretty cold in the strong wind, and were glad to get finished and back inthe clubhouse for a warm up. Final scores on the Sporting; Cat 57 Jonsey 46; (brilliant shooting for a girlie..!!) Tosspot 45 Pin 42 Mungler 42 Suitably refreshed, we booked on the DTL, which fortunately was shot from a covered layout, and as most people know, DTL is very much a mind game, 'cos they're not hard targets, Tosspot was going like a train, looked certain to straight it with ease, very steady, every bird a ball of dust, then went and missed the last one out..!! I think they heard the cursing right back in the clubhouse..!! Final scores on the DTL; Cat 24 Mungler 24 Tosspot 24 Pin 23 Jonsey 15 (Whoops..could do better!!) Our squad after the DTL Then onto the skeet, they really were bouncing about in the wind, most serious skeeters would have stayed at home, I don't think a 25 straight was on the cards; Mungler and Pin got in the rythym and were grinding them up methodically, Jonsey struggled a bit in the freezing gale. Final scores on the skeet, all good considering the conditions; Cat 22 Pin 22 Tosspot 22 Mungler 21 Jonsey 20 Tosspot showing great style on the skeet Pin displaying good stance for a beginner Mungler with a Digweed style grip Jonsey; powdering (not her nose), but low 3 bird Cat missing an easy low 2 All in all, a superb day spent with a really great bunch of shooters, I managed to win High Gun on the Sporting, don't really know how, as I didn't deserve it after a doomer on the rabbit stand, I just managed to break more than everybody else, strange how things work out..?? Roll on the next event, and guys stay away if your ego can't stand being beaten by a lady..!! Cat

Click "Members Info" Then click "Scores" Then enter either surname or CPSA member number. The scores should all be on the CPSA website by Wednesday or Thursday of this week, provided that the ground have e-mailed them in promptly. Some do, some don't, if the ground does not submit scores, they are named in the "Outstanding Scores" section. Cat
