Which One?

Shooting oppo is after a new lamp and has decided that he's fed up with external batteries and cables.

Could anyone who's familiar with both say which of these two has the greater effective shooting range and what distance that might be - the Night Master 800 or the Clulite INT 1 The Interceptor? Obviously either will do for rabbit, so we're looking at fox here. I quite like the look of the Clulite and confess I am a fan of their products but it must be said that their idea of effective distances is, shall we say, somewhat ambitious to say the least.

Many thanks

Nm 800 is very good only down side is the price but I like the nm that much i got the white/red/ir pills

Thanks, Martyn. I know what Dave is going to ask, so, what do you reckon is the maximum sensible range for a 100% positive fox ID and shot on an average night? Dave shoots 22 Hornet and with his load/bullet of choice he's looking at a 200 yard maximum.

Cheers

Thank you once more.

Now I just need the same info for the Clulite.

Anyone?

Buy whichever one comes with an elastic band! :good:

At least the Deben guy was polite in replying after I e-mailed saying please cancel my query. Heaven knows what he actually thought though!

hi wymberly, i have no knowledge of any of those apart from the nm800, which i just use to find my way about and maybe scan the meadow. i do however know a very clever man who goes by the name of activiii who diddles with these things and for a very reasonable sum sent me a focusable red led torch which will easily reach 250 + yards. my advice for what it's worth is save some money and drop him a pm :good:

If 'twas for me I would, but knowing oppo I will have to provide all the evidence to back up what you're saying first - to make matters worse, he's just got his sticky little fingers on c£15,000 and He's dieing to spend some on toys.

Well, got the 800.

Went out with Oppo before the weekend with a less than 1st quarter moon over grass on what was quite a dark night. Using the Turbo version with the 66mm head and the red LED, it looks as though 185 yards is do-able (range finder/oak tree in the favourite zeroing field) but a tad less would be more comfortable. Over stubble, the 200 yards would be good. As we both use 22 Hornet, then there's not a requirement for too much beyond the 200 but with the white LED there was utterly no need to check the distance, quite simply, fill yer boots! So I got one too! What did it for me is that in spite of what you read (I can only answer for the model described), it is possible to open the beam up to make scanning reasonably effective using the white LED out to 200 yards without losing the identification/shooting strength - quite probably further in better conditions/over stubble but as said, we don't need it so didn't investigate further.
