njc110381
Hey guys. I've got a bit of a problem and wondered how you've got on with this stuff? I bought a tin of it the other day thinking that it would be an easy way to lube up my cases, but once done I pressure dented six out of the fourteen cases I sized! It's the typical too much lube dent in the shoulder but I didn't think I put that much on? Has anyone else had this trouble? If so how did you get around it? It's going to be hard to put on less than I did the last time, unless I hold the can miles away from the cases maybe? It's a bit frustrating, and mr tight is now going to have to lightly load them and blow the dent back out!
wymberley
Try spraying at an angle with the cases horizontal and neck end away from you after you've also sprayed a few cotton buds which you've used to 'wipe' the necks. Then simply handling the cases will ensure full external coverage.
phaedra1106
Buy a decent lube Seriously, it's not a great lube. The best and most consistent spray lube by far is RCBS Case Slick spray but it's not available in the UK, you can get the odd one off eBay US for about £12. I get mine when we go over to the US, a friend has just been over visiting her son and brought 6 bottles back for me (and lots of other nice cheap shooting bits!) Best alternative would be Frankford Arsenal spray lube from Kranks, about £12 for an 8oz bottle, only problem is the spray is a bit heavy so if you have a bottle with a finer spray put it in that. As always with spray lubes make sure you let them dry for 5-10mins before sizing as while they are still liquid they don't compress and can cause the dents. njc110381
All your comments have been noted - thanks. I'm wishing I'd bought another can of Hoppes Dri-lube. It's not a case lube but I've used it in the past when I misplaced my tube of Lee paste and it worked a treat! I'm not sure I left it to dry for long enough, and I've probably got too much on the neck and shoulder area. Lesson learned - hopefully following this advice will sort the problem. Blunderbust
Imperial sizing wax is good stuff .
njc110381
I've heard from several sources that the waxes and rub on lubes seem to perform better. Trouble is I'm lazy. I'd rather fill a loading tray with 50 cases and give them a quick blast - job done! Hey ho - I'll try again and if all else fails I can either use the Lee stuff (which works fine but I have to apply it to each case) or grab a can of dri-lube and cheat in a way I know works! activeviii
plastic bag, spray into the bag and then throw case it, give them a rub in the bag and then stack in your trays. thats what i did with the Lee gel rubbish except it was a squirt out of the tube now i use one shot, never had a problem with it, but, the new one i bought is in a different bottle and i haven't tried is yet. im tighter than you so once fired only get necked, new brass only gets necked and trimmed. no lube
