terrier
I have/had two .20 fac airrifles. HW90k .20 and a Falcon skeleton FN19 .20, both superB guns with a very flat trajectory. With the Falcon -regulated with 28ftlbs- I could reach the muskrats and Nile geese at 80 yards and they dropped dead where I hit them, even at that distance. I regrett untill today that i swapped it for a AA410 .22 (sold it after a month) The HW90 (21ftlbs) is a real rat and rabbit slayer, but woody's at 50 yards where an easy prey too. very powerfull for barn work and around the house (maggy's etc) ammo availability is not an argument for not buying a .20 or a .25 airrifle... http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/20-air-rifle-pellets http://www.pelletperfect.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=39 http://www.pelletperfect.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=40 Edited October 10, 2013 by terrier
tweedledee
I usually agree with Kent on most things but twenty cal is great.been using it a couple of years now.i have no trouble gettin pellets and find it lot flatter.i have three calibres in fac but would never want a 25.too loopy for my liking. Trajectory and velocity are linked. It matters only how fast you run a bigger pill and a bigger heavier pellet behaves better with a big wack of air up its rear. Once you run over 900-950 fps most seem to loose the plot. .22 at 950 and .20 at 950 - think it over
tweedledee
totally understand your point kent, obvious the bigger pill will hit harder,my point being the 20 still does the job and very well at that.i use 22 fac mostly and rather than take other folks word for it I had to try both 177 and 20 in fac to see for myself. each calibre is well and truly up to the job,its all down to shop placement at the end of the day,,,, and using each calibre within its limits of course

My Lonestar without restrictor spits out 35 grain solids at 951fps and I can tell it shoots VERY flat. At 100 yards its flat as a 97k .177 at 40 yards, and much more accurate Edited October 11, 2013 by terrier
tweedledee
Yeah but how easy is it to silence? And how many shots to the fill?
terrier
Sak silencer makes it pretty silent, acceptable. 10 shots. That is without restrictor I use it with the restrictor, and the 55 ftp are also acceptable noise/ trajectory-wise. 14 shots, 12 good ones. simon6ppc
i think every one all swears by there own certain calibers,in the right hands they all do there bit,but we all like playing with different guns at the end of the day me being one of them, ive used 20 in fac its a serious hunting tool.but to me not just the 22,but a 177 is not just a 20,we could go on forever,i think a 22 fac takes a lot of beating, but then there the 25 ha ha,,,
