bigbird
Ah ha Neil!!!! You looked exhausted on Wednesday, are you seriously 'looking forward' to it?!?! Loved Neil's opening comment on Weds 'if anybody tells me to f&*k off I'm leaving or words to that effect. Steve's comeback - 'if they tell you to f&*k off they'll only be taking the p*&s' lol
Guest
I have some thing to say about today................................... Firstly sorry about the opening impersonation this morning with the members of the shoot that hadn't seen me before and did not know who i was. 2.We were lucky with the weather because on the way home the Jimny was afloat down the A55 . 3.I do offer a good service with the Jimny if you ever get stuck in you Defenders.Discoverys,Range Rovers and 4x4 pick ups don't be embarrassed just ask and i will tow you out (Jimny Power) 4.You really need to consider a different route round Mount Everest as my legs are aching and the dog wants a bungee it said.I talked to my friend before (Chris Bonnington) for advise. 5. It was really nice to meet Mr Potter and the rest of the shoot. 6. To be continued......... Many Thanks for today. Neil
Paul223
Yeah it's good for yer legs alright Couple of shoots in and it's surprising how strong your ankles and legs get, at the start of the season walking up Teri hill (you've not done that one yet) leaves you thinking a heart attack is imminent and your so breathless speech is impossible, by Christmas time you'll be able to hold a conversation whilst walking up and be ready to go at the top

shoot and be safe
Mr Potter took up the challenge and shot as my guest today I was gutted that I had to work today (former driver decided to join the dole queue by reversing his bus into a building). I managed to finish early afternoon and join for the last drive (duck), then back to the pub for a well earn drink, thanks for the pint Andy You could tell Mr Potter was in attendance as the shot to kill ratio below 5:1 Sorry I wasn't there from the start today but was the vinegar really necessary? Good to see you again Andy, see you again soon Edited January 18, 2014 by shoot and be safe

shoot and be safe
Overall this weekend wasn't too bad. We started last night (Friday) with the shoot meal. Some fantastic food, great company and far far too much drinking. As the evening progressed, there were a couple of rounds of Sambuca (taken Ibiza style of course). These were soon followed by a small round of Irish Car Bombs for Paul223, myself and two others. The drinks set. Guinness with a Jameson's and a shot glass of Bailey's Ayano3, we hold you responsible for introducing us to these when you were a guest the other week. The 3 who stepped up to the challenge Myself Paul and Paul223 One of the chaps wimped out and nobody else liked the look of the congealed mess left in the empty glass. Now at almost £7 a go, I was not going let it go to waste. note the look of disgust on the ladies' faces in the background. 2 car bombs in less than a minute. This concluded the evenings festivities which left the 2 mile walk home Edited January 25, 2014 by shoot and be safe

shoot and be safe
Some pictures from today. Pick your peg and a cheeky shot of blackcurrant brandy. Magman in the 110. I was a walking gun. In the 110 everyone who had a gun was shooting, some were standing guns and the rest were in the beating line as walking guns. Rob's team's one and only drive. myself closest, Magman in the middle and Brian28 on the far hedge. Next weeks shoot captain Magman holding 1/5th of today's bag. Today bag was 2 woodcock, 6 pheasants and 2 duck for 89 shots. All in all not as bad as it sounds as we were shooting cock birds only and we missed out one of our BEST drives. Philmypower was in charge today and to be fair he did a good job apart from being easily swayed by some shoot members resulting in us not shooting the nant Some shoot members, myself being one, were a little disappointed by this. Today was the last driven day, as next week is beaters day. Today was good and the banter was great. Paul223
Phil made the decision to leave the nant out this morning, in the car park, and I'm told it was reaffirmed at lunch when he asked around for the general consensus. After 2 weeks rest it'll be worth doing next week and the birds will be less skittish. I'm think Phil did a good job of running the day, it's not easy. Next week should be fun!
