ok guys im fairly new to this. apart from a bit of ferretin when i was a lad with my m8s ferrets .ive had a look through a few posts but still unsureso heres a few questions...

1.do you feed the ferrets before ferreting or let them go hungry will this make them hunt better

2.netting i seem to remember how to set the nets do you tuck the end of the net down the holes slightly so the rabbit is stood on the end when it bolts

3. how long do the pegs need to be for the nets as i guess the rabbits hit them quite hard sometimes.

4.both the ferrets are poly hobs 1i s very big compared to the other which would you use first as he is a lot slower than the smaller fert both are brothers aswell.

5.any other tips that will help me would be appreciated as its been a while since ive been ferreting

Feed them; a hungry ferret is more likely to kill underground. My pegs are about 7 inches long and they need pushing in well as they can be pulled out the ground by a struggling rabbit. With regards to netting make sure there are no gaps around the side of the net that a rabbit can slip through. I push a ring into the ground above the hole and below it and then drape the net over the hole. This helps hold it in place. :good: It is up to you how you work them and experience will tell you which individual ferret is best for different types of buries.
