Blunderbuss
Found this fella growing the driveway right outside my front door. I think (I hope!) it's a Shaggy Ink Cap AKA lawyer's wig, quite often get them on the lawn, but I don't normally find them till they are a bit old and raggedy, this one was young and in good nick. Gently fried in butter on a piece of toasted sourdough bread with an touch of ground black pepper. It was flippin' lovely! Consultant toxicologist on speed dial!! Footu
We get loads of them and puffballs round here. Quite acidic soil, but no chanterelles and even bollettes are rare. Loads of non edibles,.but yours was a mint Incap with no blemish. Do you have acid soil and if so any other good finds?
Blunderbuss
I think our soil is a little acidic. I'm still fairly new to this, so I stick to 2 or 3 I am confident of. I live in hope of chanterelles or morrells, but no joy so far

That, combined with the Jalfrezi I also had, will explain the paintstripping 'aromatic' green fug which surrounds me...
