Very informal permission guy dosent need them shot but said he would be happy for me to do it! Just looking for a bit of advice on kit/tactics/carts for a novice. Thanks in advance Noticed the birds siting in a large tree on one side of the field goin to have a good look tmrw and c were there flyin in from! strangford wildfowler Posted November 2, 2013 Report Share Posted November 2, 2013 Well I would say your best bet is to roost shoot them if you know where the roost is, as for carts 30gr no.5/6 should be enough to nock them down, and where so camo or dark clothing and try and conceal yourself, I think it was crow's that are able tell the difference between a man with a gun and a man without one. bruno22rf Posted November 2, 2013 Report Share Posted November 2, 2013 Hate to be a party pooper here but, under the general licence rules, if they are not causing damage of any concern to the landowner (and he could be asked to prove that he has tried other methods to get rid of the birds) can they be shot? eccles Posted November 2, 2013 Report Share Posted November 2, 2013 Shot a few crows in my time. They are not hard to decoy just stick out about 15 to 20 decoys.
