HDAV
just be aware guys they dont have wood stock and forend.....its called syntwood. it looks good but it is plastic/abs. good and strong and does not need looking after, but not wood. I know the grain is a coating "Weather Coat" but i thought the base material was actually from a tree...
stu nesling
if you take the butt pad off you will see the tube for the stock bolt and the inside of the stock itself it will probably be filled with some sort of foam. at least thats what was inside my 712...and was in my 912 also. the only one with real wood i know of is the grifone. not that pretty, but it does the job well weather coat/syntwood stock on my old 3.5" mag 912. HDAV
Can only go on what i read as i don't have one in cabinet (no LH model) but http://www.northern-optics.co.uk/FRANCHI_SEMI_AUTO.html . The 712 & 720 Raptor walnut stocks are finished with a five-step process called Weather Coat. It not only makes the stock impervious to even the harshest weather, but also dramatically enhances the figure and beauty of the walnut. The I-12 shotgun has a Weather Coat walnut stock that is virtually impervious to any kind of weather. The finish complements the wood’s beautiful grain pattern. mr smith
They are wood and the butt isn't a hollow shell as in the picture above.
