Maybe someone on here can persuade me on which one. I think which ever one i choose i would be just as happy, because tbh there isnt that much difference between them, i think one was heavier though. I just like heavier guns. Peter_HMR Posted January 8, 2007 Report Share Posted January 8, 2007 I went with the varmint had an american in .22wmr before and theres not a huge difference between them. The extra weight on the varmint is nice for off hand shoot its front heavy so makes it easier. Also came with a 16" barrel so handy for shooting out of the jeep. Really doesnt make a difference when i went into the shop they didnt have a american in stock and the wood on the varmint was really nice so i bought it i also think the varmint looks better as far as shooting goes they should be the same.
