thepasty
Hey guys Been shooting a while now, got FAC etc but lately have been hankering for an air rifle, I used to shoot them a lot as a kid but havent touched them since. I was in the gun shop earlier after some .22lr ammo and asked about cheap air rifles, I handled a few, was tempted by the usual posh kit way over my budget but then I was handed the X10... I wanted open sights as thats what I had as a kid... check... full power... check... fits me well... check. All that for 100 nickers.... Some research later and I see they have a good heritage and reviews seem positive.... all from my phone at the counter... oh the joys of modern technology Screw it I think, its only a few beer tokens and out I walk with a new rifle. First impressions are good, I cant complain for £100. Once I'm dialled in some rats will be meeting their maker Anyone else got one? Whats your thoughts? Cheers Steve
Lord Geordie
A good friend of mine has a Stoger. Not sure what model but it's powerful enough and very accurate!
thepasty
I can now agree with that, took it out this morning for some plinking and its great for the money, I've got nothing bad to say about it really. Going to get a cheap scope to go on it as I'm going need it for those pin point brain shots
Underdog
I'm not sure but think they are a Hatsan or Chinese version underneath and yes if so for the money very good. Glad fer'ya. U.
thepasty
They're Chinese made but owned by Benelli or Berretta (cant remember which) so standards seem to be quite high. The build quality is far better than I was expecting for 100 nickers.
secretagentmole
Beretta designed, marketed by their American based arm, made in China, the UN in an air rifle!
thepasty
So I received a Nikko Sterling Mountmaster scope today, wacked it on and went shooting... stuck a load of pellets through it and I honestly cant say a bad thing about the rifle (considering its price tag), it shot great all afternoon. Very happy with the rifle.
secretagentmole
OK so how many wild pasties did you shoot then? Did you shoot the burrowing ones by the old mine workings or the ones grazing on the cliff tops?

secretagentmole
But I have seen them, it was a wild night in St Austell and after a heavy session on Walter Hick's. As I staggered to the clifftop with what appeared to be an ore hammer working in my brain, I saw what appeared to be a buxom Cornish wench picking things that were moving up and stunning them with a lump of flint! I asked what she was doing and she replied Pasty Off, I think! I still can't get that water out of my left ear! Did you realise the pasty is the tougher cousin of the haggis?
