rayhallam
I don't know if this is the right place to post this . I'm having trouble with my magazines not cycling correctly, they don't always revolve on to the next pellet fully causing the bolt not to return fully to the firing position. Is any one else having this problem and is there any thing I can do do rectify it ray
chrisjpainter
have you taken the magazine apart? Do you have two of them? The reason I ask is that the mags are pretty simple things, there's not much to them. Take it apart and see if anything's broken. that will be pretty obvious as there are so few bits in it. The spring might be wearing out, causing it not to push the cylinder round cleanly. if it's not that, it might be the gun itself, but if you have two mags, you can probably rule that out/confirm it. You can get spare parts from http://airarmsspares.com/air-arms-spares/

Big Gnat
Nothing wrong with your magazine. What you have done inadvertently, is inserted the magazine into the slot fully before ensuring the bolt was fully pulled back. This causes the indexing pin arm to bend very slightly out off shape. Its made of copper. This can be easily rectified if you have a pair of fine nosed pliers and allan keys. A replacement costs less than £10 from eBay. Plenty of pics to give you an idea of the true shape the copper arm should be. Hope this helps.
Big Gnat
If you find your magazine very stiff. Remove cover carefully after unscrewing the small allen screw. Catch the small sring, clean the inside and small ball bearing. Snip a few coils off the spring and reassemble. It will now index more easily. Tinribz
My dads 510 works a treat but once mine went wrong twice cheap repair or not i sold it i lost confidence in it nothing more anoying than having to keep cycling the mag by hand wile in the field it sounds like a common problem not very good for such a highly ranked and expensive gun
srspower
Look it's the indexing post that's the problem NOT the magazine. Air Arms mags aren't under tension, all there is is a little spring pushing a metal ball against the ridges in the metal allowing it to hold each chamber in place. Then a O ring around it to ensure the pellet is held in properly. They don't go wrong, if you have a problem cycling then you need to replace/adjust the indexing post. Look here:- £10 on ebay, ten minute job. And, in my opinion, the Air Arms magazine system is the smoothest and best out there. Sure the indexing posts can go wrong but mine lasted 15 years, and when it played up cycling i fiddled with the tab a little and it snapped off hence the replacement. If you own a Air Arms PCP I recommend always having an indexing post spare, they only cost a tenner afterall. srspower
So how do you explain the need for needing three mags for shooting but needing to have the indexing post set differently for each mag. Clearly a system where multiple magazines are a hit and miss option which when shooting in the dark, i find useful as you dont have to try filling them up unable to see. Well I can only speak from experience, but I have two mags. One of the modern steel ones and the original one that came with my s310 that's plastic. Both work perfectly provided the indexing post is setup right.

sirgoldalot
I had my s410 for 12+ years and have gone through 11 posts i always have at least two spares...why they have not sorted this out after all this time? they know its a weakness...all you need to buy is the small bent bit it unscrews from the post so should be available separate ...but no you have to buy the whole post....bit of a rip off in my eyes...@ £10 each...should cost 25p each...how many thousands as this sub-standard bit earned AA over the years...the worse thing is they always break on a good session.... You're going through a post every year? Mine lasted nearly 15! Mind you at £10 a pop that still isn't too bad if its only once per year.
