scolopax
Well after seven (or is it eight ??) blank flights I went to a completely different marsh, one which see very few wildfowlers and one I have not visited for several years myself.......... And I shot a duck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In fact not one but five lovely fat mallard came home with me, a real red letter day. All called in as they worked the marsh edge, shows the benefit of visiting a low pressure area. Saw a few Pintail mooching about as well but they did not like the mallard call. aister
Excelent well done, I have had a bad season where ducks are concerned. I have had a couple of decent flights but the usual spots have bean dead. Makes it all the better when it all comes together.
kent
That's wildfowling for you. I am not calling at present duck are all settled in pairs and I haven't heard anything but squabbling mallard call in a while. If I don't hear them I generally shut up

silver pigeon 3
well done, it's always nice to bag a few from a place that no one else bothers with. The trick is to now keep it as quiet as possible before the others cotton on and then everbody will be on there
Richie10
Had a few runs of blanks lately hopefully the weather will change and get the ducks back on the marsh.
