MrHarrison
I'm thinking of getting the 30 calibre fx boss, does anyone have 1 what are the for's and against's. Has anyone had any problems with these? Or would you sway further towards a different gun? Obviously that depends on what I'm shooting I know. But I'd be using it mainly for rough shooting, and vermin control.
turbo33
You'll get the usual idiots telling you there's no point, might as well get a 22lr, what's the point in fac air, etc, etc. Personally, I think they look awesome and the performance is nothing short of spectacular. Just get one
kent
well for 25 views you got one reply plus mine, does that tell you something? Must admit I was thinking WTFT?
chrisjpainter
Here's FieldSports test on a Boss. A lot of it is about shooting a fox with one, but it's a good comparison between a higher powered FAC air and a .22lr. it is a little graphic, as they start playing about with skinned fox heads, but it's worth a look and probably explains why a lot of people wouldn't bother with one! Salop Matt
I love my .22 30Ft/Lb Daystate Huntsman and wouldnt be without it ! But I cant see the point in these big monster calibres and power outputs, everyone should be able to get within 60yads of a bunny with field craft and a .22 at 30Ft/Lb is plenty to take all the air rifle quary at this range. So why do it ? Even with my HMR i would still get a close as possible, most of my HMR shots are at 60yards but the rifle is capable of far more as we all know. If we had bigger quarry in the UK then fair enough but we dont, so for me they are pointless / a very expensive toy. ATB Matt
Livefast123
If you want it and carrying it will make you smile, then get it. Life is too short and you can't take it with you :-) Make sure you have a compressor in tow as I think they use a fair bit of air. theshootist
I think that one of these would be great fun, but I have absolutely no experience of them. If you're ready to jump through the hoops then go for it, it would be an effective hunting tool and give you a new challenge to learn how to use it effectively. High power air rifles have been around a lot longer than than the sub-12 that we are now so used to.
