The drivers side front alloy on my x-trail is getting very hot when I drive, yet the other wheels arnt. what could be causing it. hedge Posted February 1, 2014 Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 As above - there is some friction or resistance somewhere. Could be a sticky brake calliper or tired wheel bearing. Dougy Posted February 1, 2014 Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 Jack it up and see if there's any resistants when you try and spin the wheel, I bet your brakes are binding, wet weather driving through water will force debris into your caliper/ piston making them stick. bazzab Posted February 1, 2014 Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 Stuck on caliper mate. Pulsing under braking is where the disk has warped from the heat of caliper sticking on. Its unlikely to be radically different from other calipers. Faulty under engineered discs have been known on certain cars in the past though.
