Suffolk shooter
Right, Anybody who is coming to the PW meetup on the 2nd March, can you post here just so I know roughly how many people I will be expecting to meet and greet. Also gives me time to practise the excuses dependant on who you all are Also how many cartridges I need to bring, as I know some of us are insatiable in our quest to fire off everything we can lay our hands on. The only rule i can see regarding cartridges is nothing bigger than size 6 shot and no loads bigger than 28 grams. They will insist on Safety glasses and ear plugs as well, other than that solid slug or tracer rounds for the F-18's that fly over is not allowed no matter how tempting those goddamn planes are at approx 150-200 feet above the ground If it turns into a late one, well so be it, just bring your ID and and we can watch some girlies dancing SS
BTMS
I am up for it. Yes those planes are a bit noisy!!!!!! Brian

Suffolk shooter
Right, The safety glasses/goggles issue................... For those of those that already wear prescription glasses, you don't need to worry. They are just fine. For those of you that don't, the reason behind it apart from common sense with bits of broken clay flying around is that Lakenheath is a PREMIER member ground of the CPSA and it is one of their mandatory requirements that these be worn. The reason for the 28gram limit is due to noise pollution and ruling from the local licensing/planning council, shot size not sure about, but really you don't need anything bigger than No 6 as none of them are miles out in front. The basic rules are as follows: - 1. Wear eye protection. 2. Wear ear protection. 3. Nothing bigger than 28gram load 4. No shot bigger than No 6. 5. If using Semi automatics, only two cartridges allowed in the gun at any one time. They aren't stupid and will hear. They also have guys regularly going round on golf carts checking traps/stands etc. These are there to ensure enjoyment of all. A little PC maybe, but even so common sense and self preservation should be everyone's number one priority regardless of reason for shooting. Right lecture over, I will see you all there Friday 2nd March 2007. Meet 9.30 - 10.00am in the clubhouse. PM me for directions if you're not sure and I'll give you my mobile number as well (well to those I trust and know at least) For those of you I don't yet know, get the number of the website for the ground Lakenheath Clay Target Centre Cheers SS
Fenlander
Sorry if its been coverd and i have missed it ,but what is the order of the day? as in what will you be shooting?,sporting skeet,? how many clays,is it a comp or just fun and what will be the cost? I'd like to come and meet some people,it depends on cost realy. once again sorry if this has already been coverd. All the best Mick.
Suffolk shooter
Hi Fenlander, Yep it's been covered under another post, but just so you and anyone else who looks knows............ The order of the day is FUN, FUN, FUN There is no hard and fast rule to the day, although I did suggest that in order to post some PW member scores (So we can all take the mickey out of each other) we could do the following: - Round of Skeet (25 clays) Round of Sporting (100 clays) Round of DTL (25 clays) Round of Compact sporting (50 clays - As it is two tiered, 25 up top and 25 on the ground) Total clays for PW scores = 200. I think I am right in saying that it is£0.22p/clay so 200 would equal £44.00 Nobody has to shoot all 200 if they don't want to, but we could do an independant score for each discipline as well as a combined score for all disciplines. I am well aware that they are more than a few of us that will shoot until we drop and so for a laugh I suggest we have pool shoot (Not for money though) on one of the more testing stands on the day. I have an idea which one it will be, but just so you lot don't think i've had the practise, I'll tell you now, the stand in question if set as the last two times I havebeen, I had 20 shots for three clays. Hopefully this answers it for you Mick and anyone else. The only other thing I did suggest was that each person shooting donated £5 to Spiders Appeal (See Earlier Thread). Again this isn't a hard and fast rule. I just thought we could do something for charity at the same time as having fun. SS
pin
Yes yes clays blah blah blah, what about the dancing girls?
plexer
Damn I missed the other thread. Friday no chance of attending then which is a shame Leakenheath is always good fun. Floodlit skeet is on wednesday nights. Ben
Mungler
Pass confirmed and day's holiday booked. The overall cost should be reduced for me because if my memory serves correctly Cavie and Pin are into me each for a fiver. Coupled with the double or quits bet I lay down now, I should have enough money left over for a few pound coins in a pint glass later (those in the know will know). pin
I am all up for throwing good money after bad, you are on my son What we betting on, overall score?
Mungler
Go a fiver on each of the disciplines - let you get some money back on skeet.
MC
Your memory is fading in your later years, we did double or quits at Braintree and you lost my friend. I am sure we can go a fiver on each discipline if you really don't like money.
Mungler
Ho no, there was no scoring at Braintree, unlike Monday madness where the scores are still up to be seen (coughs that's a fiver).
MC
No scoring hey? Is that because the force wasn't with you and you couldn't hit the battue? You lost fair and square.
pin
Go a fiver on each of the disciplines - let you get some money back on skeet. I fancy my chances at everything actually, and the skeet. Your on my friend.
Suffolk shooter
It seems it's getting rather competative on here for a fun day, but knowing you lads that have posted about £5 bets, you'll all be **** on the day and the excuses will flow from before we get there, and one of the guys who doesn't normally attend these events will wipe the floor with us all. So it seems that people want to have a side bet, well I suggust that we all stick a quid in and the overall combined discipline score winner takes all!!! Now I know it ain't gonna be me, but it would make it interesting. Mungler, i'd becareful about Battues mate, i seem to remember MC wiping the floor with us all at The Fenns over xmas, especially you on the double or quits scenario. Conversely, I then went and shot 5 ex 6 at the garrsion onthe battue stand, means sod all though if you can't do it consistantly SS  Ps. Pin are you that desperate to see the dancing girls, go to the clubs website its called Ushers. Pics of girls on there mate
