demonwolf444
Went out the other morning. Started out ferreting for a couple of hours, got a rabbit stuck just out of reach of the mouth of the hole and fogot the shovel. So i ended up running cross country to get the spade which we left at mine, came back in the landrover... but it was a bit muddy mind. Ended up in an hour and a half actual ferreting with three rabbits, i think we worked out it should have been six, but 8gun was half asleep and missed a couple of cracking bolters due to not paying attention. Was a good morning out considering it was windy as heck and we are always told they wont bolt in the wind. Still not happy with the load i was using in the muzzle loader which has recently been restocked, lacking a bit of authority. We went on to the woods in the evening, got six pigeons nailing it in the wind coming in to roost, and two good squirrels, made pigeon burgers and they were excellent. demonwolf444
Breasted out the pigeons and pulsed the meat till it has a burgery consistency, mixed in diced onion and finely chopped garlic, salt, pepper, chilli powder, and an egg to bind. I feel we could have got it muddier.. we should try harder in the future.

demonwolf444
On a more suitable frosty morning i think we would have got more. We we are not about the big bags, just having a good time. Only so much game you want as well at any one time.. prepping 10 or 12 pigeons is not so bad, prepping 60 pigeons, what is everyone doing with 60 pigeons? We get bags of 20 + occasionally, but its usually when you are on a fresh permission or warren.
