Built this Dutton Sierra at the end of the 1980s. It had four engines, including a 1.6 Pinto Ford Capri engine, a Fiat Supermirafiori twin cam 2.0 and a couple of quicker 2.0 Pintos, with 3.0 Webber carb.

Quite nippy, but tail happy. Did a 360 degrees, in the wet, on a motorway roundabout.

Got rid, because the driving position was slightly cramped and had a knee problem after dropping a 2.0 engine on my knee.

Wish I still had the GSDs - great dogs.

Nice pic mate, love the old Light weights and wish I had my old one as well, it was a 2a 24v (that's volts not valves) still had the shielded ht leads and the big 25v generator, I rolled it doing a RTV wasn't nice being upside down in a truck cab with petrol and battery acid dripping into the cab

mine was bog standard...12v.....2.25 petrol zenith carb , and had flitch plates welded on it as it went on a pallet out of the back of a hercy bird....managed to get the pick an shovel for it as it had canvas straps on the tailgate for them.......one thing it did have was a cracking good heater...used to blow the wifes skirt back when on number 3...

It is still kicking about? There are a couple of lightweights in the area.

I've got a series 3 109 and a defender at the moment, was going to rebuild the 109 but i'm selling it to fund a different project.

i was working away when it was sold....so i didnt know where it went ..it wouldnt surprise me if it stayed in the area..........it was on a "Q" plate....
