wymberley
One star the barrel is nominally bored full and the two stars 3/4 when stamped.
cobbettjames
Could they have been changed? I got told that they were 1/4 and 1/2 when I brought it....
station
Probably not - sorry. You can't make a hole smaller (unless you spends lots and have them Teagued or the like)
Big Mat
If the starts correspond to full and 3/4, then it is quite likely they will have been opened out to 1/4 1/2 if thats what it was sold to you.
cobbettjames
I'm hoping they have been altered coz my first gun was 3/4 and full... And couldn't hit a lot!! I'm very new to this so thought 1/4 and 1/2 would help me no end..... I'm going to try it out this weekend so will find out if it's me or the gun!! My first ever time of shooting a shotgun was my friends at high lodge with 1/4 and 1/2 and I got 39/100 :-)

FatherandSon
Churchills of Dereham, they have a gauge like jewellers have to measure rings.
eredel
If you bought it from Philip at Gt Ellingham and he told you it was 1/4 &1/2 then that's what it is....it has been bored out to what is commonly called "sporterise" it. If you're needing your mind put at rest any gunsmith will check it for you. Eric.
cobbettjames
Thank you all for your input! I'm going to get it checked just if I sell it! And I got it private so just had to take his word for it... But it was only £150 so had to take the chance
