Blunder-buster
Is 350 acres enough to set up a good game shoot ?
ColinF
Depends on the topography, what cover and other features you have, and how big the shoot you are trying to establish will be. I used to be involved with a really good shoot, which was on less than 200 acres, but I have also seen 1,000 acre blocks of land that were no good for game shooting at all. rimfire4969
If you have the woods and decent hedges 350 acres is plenty.
Keeperchris
Depends on cover/habitat and topography. Mine is 300 acres we shoot 10 days!!!
pboro shot
A good shoot is far more to do with land size as said, I work over 3 farms the biggest estate is not the best as far as sporting birds but the amount of birds shoot is far more but guns prefer other smaller shoot but far fewer birds are shot id rarther shoot 2 good birds rarther then when there like fish in a barrel
wannabe_keeper
If the ground is ideal 350 acres is more than enough. I have set up my own shoot on less than 100 acres!
Tollerman
Totally agree with Keeperchris. If you have 350 acres of open ground you have a problem. If you have woodland ,hedgerows, conservation margins and a pond or two it could be something special. We rear six hundred pheasants on our little shoot and manage to hold them well.
