Hull special pigeon

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm new to the shotgun and I've noticed the gamebore clear pigeons are the favoured cartridge for most pigeon shooters but no where sells them for miles!

My local gunsmith mainly stocks hull so I bought a few boxes of there special pigeon 32gram fibre wad to try how does everyone rate them? Cheers

If they are the ones in a blue case the they are a good shell. i used some a while back on walked up game and they killed well.

over priced as a pigeon shell IMO though. If your dealer supplies Hull then ask if he can get superfast in no6, just as good and about a tenner a slab cheaper.

Always helps a bit if you post where you're from in your profile Cal In The Field. You might find someone local to you who can help you find some GB Clear Pigeon.

I've used the Hull Special Pigeon 32g No 6 12 bore in the red case. Nice and smooth and good in S/A's as 70mm case. The last lot I bought were under £200 a 1000, now nearer £240 which is too much.

There are cheaper options out there which do just as good a job.

Cheers everyone I'll sort my profile out with a location, they are indeed blue and they were about £7 a box but if there quality cartridges I'm happy to pay whatever I'll see what other 6's they have in and try them to thanks again

To pay £7 for pigeon cartridges seems very excessive to me. I wouldn't pay anything over a fiver a box, unless I really had to. The cheap shells I use will do just as good a job as those, unless you are going to be constantly taking on 60 yard birds.
