stevethevanman
The law says no pump or semi-auto wepons over 22 cal in rifles
il cacciatore
The law actually states no semi auto or pump action that is not .22 rim-fire. Damn this county's stupid laws!

stevethevanman
This sort of thing keeps the kiddies safe from harm. How dare you slag off our fine lawmakers! I was going over me and my sons shotgun certificates and they say that he can be begifted one from 15 but he cant buy one till he is 17, he can use one under someone over 21 with a valid shotgun certificate, he is never going out with one on his own, I will always be with him so technically he might just not bother to have a certificate at all, because he cant use it to buy anything unless he is at least 17, but he can use one without a certificate if he is supervised by someone that is over 21 and has a certificate. I hate the law sometimes, and yes it does pretect people, but I believe that they sould only impose restrictions on certain individuals files as it were, so it only prohibits them from doing certain things, instead of making restrictions for the rest o us that abide by the law

njc110381
Sorry, I get like that sometimes. It really P***** me off when I'm talking about british rules made due to one crazy individual. Everyone shouts ban guns because someone is hurt by a maniac, yet if a kid is run over it's just unfortunate. I like cars myself, I just wish guns were seen in the same light. After all a car holds more ft-lbs of energy than a bullet and can be openly used in public, near schools etc. Get my point?

DaveK
Hang on a cotton pickin' minnit. The act specifies .22 rimfire cartridge. the .17hmr cartridge is a .22rf cartridge that has been necked down to take a .17 bullet. Just a thought. njc110381
It's a good thought too. The trouble is once it's necked down it isn't a .22 cartridge anymore, it's a .17. The rear dimensions of the case don't matter. It's like a .243 being a necked down .308 (I think).
