Stopping a scope from moving in the rings.

I have a fairly hefty scope on my .308 Ruger M77, and it's moving in the rings under recoil. The rings are as tight as I feel happy with, and I can't just try another set of rings as they are specially made for the rifle.

Does anyone know of a source for thin rubber sheet, or similar, that might stop the scope slipping ? All I have is self-amalgamating tape and that's too thick I think.

The rings came with the rifle and had a layer of insulating tape in them, so the previous owner probably had the same issue, but I don't think insulating tape will be grippy enough.
