Edward Posted February 14, 2007 Report Share Posted February 14, 2007 hi i just made a lofting pole out of a really long pice hazel with a wire hook on the end, its about 20ft and only just reaches the middle branches on the tree, its so big i have to leave it where i shoot. Painted the poles with matte green and welded a 'U' bar on the top. Had these few years and use them every year. Total cost was peanuts. Keep your eyes open at car boot sales, I've seen a few people selling old tent poles for a few pounds. Not light weight mind you but will last a life time.
