billytheghillie
I have a cz 452 style .22 rifle. Thinking of getting same model in .17hmr. Question, will the bolt from the 22 fit the .17hmr and vice versa? Im new to rifles so go easy.

colin lad
when i say different you could still mistake and pick the wrong one up if in a hurry i have the difference is the end opp handle end the flat part is longer on the hmr than the lr i have a small rubber band round the handle of the lr so i can pick correct one at a glance as i don't put bolt into gun till i reach my permission hope that makes sense colin
billytheghillie
yes, that makes sense colin, a wee bit of red tape round one will sort it out.
activeviii
I have taken the wrong one out so many times i did my nut in. 30 minute drive only to turn around and come back. In the end i engraved the underside of the bolt handles. there is a flat there just right for a dremel. i sold the hmr in the end so no problems now. Gimlet
Store the rifle with the bolts in. Its not a legal requirement to remove them. If you really insist on separating bolt and rifle make a note of the number stamped on each bolt and write it on a sticker inside the safe. The day will come though when you set out to shoot without a bolt at all and that'll cure you of the habit. Elmer Fudd 1
all 3 of my 455s work with eachothers bolts (2x.22lr,1x.17hmr)
bazzab
As Colin said I keep my bolts in an oily rag. I use a white rag for hmr and black rag for lr. Prob sounds daft but nice and quick and simple.
