Fuji Shooter
DId anyone else see the prog last night about the fraud that goes on at Driving Test Centres? Certainly and eye opener and why should you be allowed a license when you need an interpreter to explain the questions?
keg
I think we should drop the whole interpreter thing in all areas. The cost must be huge. Re the driving test, how do you read road signs if you can't speak the language.
goodo123
It's all wrong, there should be dsa approved instructors who grant your license, some people fall to bits during exams. And the whole 4 tests for a motorcycle is ridiculous.

Gordon R
I am more concerned with licences being granted to people who do not actually take the driving test. Surprisingly common.
keg
No, in Yorkshire we call that a holiday and I for one generally try and learn a minimum to get by. I refer to immigrants of all nationalities who decide to take up residence here in the uk. Of course as we once ruled the world, bleddy Johnny Foreigner should make his road signs in English! I am more concerned with licences being granted to people who do not actually take the driving test. Surprisingly common. We live near Bradford and it's very common there. Gordon R
Common enough - this side of the Pennines. I had dealings with one lad who had taken 28 driving tests for other people. He failed over 50%, but people still used him.

Fuji Shooter
It was amazing to see the lengths some of the people went to to take the tests for other people and how many they actually got away with. Quite scary really.

I recall watching one of the many TV programmes about the police and in Ireland they were looking for a Polish chap for many offences, only to discover the name they were looking for was DRIVING LICENSE in Polish. Billy.
People slating interpreters, yet they can't even spell licence. Brilliant.
derfley
I recently had a job to do at a testing centre for the various driving theory tests, due to the nature of the work it had to be done on a day where they closed to applicants. Chatting to the manager of the centre was an eye opener that's for sure, he was telling me the number that turn up with fake provisional licenses or licenses that (the photo ID) is obviously not of the person who has turned up to take the test. I had wondered why he had the direct numbers for a couple of police stations and officers pinned to his desk
