Doc Holliday
I'm having trouble with viewing my home CCTV over the interweb. The guy who installed it left me with instructions as to which software (TapCMS) and how to install it once I got myself a new phone (Galaxy S4). Ok, so have done that. Most of time it doesn't work. It says 'Connect Failed'. I have looked online and made sure everything was as stated. Still having issues. Sometimes it works on the home router/connection but more often than not it doesn't. As for the office or any other network, forget it. got rid of TapCMS and tried iwatch DVR 2. Couldn't get that to work either so then tried FingerCMS. Same as TapCMS. Any ideas? I've tried sorting things over the phone with the guy who installed it but the settings seem to be ok. And that's as far as we get, Any ideas? Thanks in advance, as ever, Doc. AdamW
You will need to open the port it's using on the router, this will allow external viewing
kingo15
As above make sure the port is open in your router, make sure you have your external ip aswell.
screamingdead
For viewing over the internet, make sure port forwarding is configured on the router & that either a static IP address is set on the wan side of the router or that dynamic DNS is configured. Also ensure the camera has a static ip address to enable the port forwarding to work correctly. Try accessing the camera on the local network by typing the camera IP address & port number into a web browser. This should either bring up a logon to the camera or a prompt to install an active x add in. On Android phones I normally install Tiny Cam and again test on the internal network before configuring an internet connection. Finally you probably can't access the camera from work because the camera port is blocked on your works firewall. Hope this helps.
