Thaikat
As the title suggests, can anybody recommend a nice easy ground for a few first time clay shooters? Cheers

Thaikat
Hi im in Chelmsford. Fennes is only 30 mins away, worth checking out then? Would be my first visit to a ground, could you recommend a quieter day so we don't hold anybody up? Cheers

al_essex
Fennes is a good shout for a beginner. Don't worry about holding people up it can be quite slow there anyway....
OddJob
Saturdays are busy and only open until 1,not open on Sunday. Any week day is fine. Smashing ground, lovely staff, good targets, well worth a visit or 3.
Travlaa
+1 for the Fennes, usually quiet mid-week. Saturdays can be fairly busy.
88b
You could try Shrove hill near Chadwell St Mary it's on tomorrow. Starts at 10 but if you leave it until about 11:30 it's quieter, and you can choose which stands to shoot. £16 for 80 clays.

Thaikat
Visited Fennes today guys, was really impressed. Very busy but only had to wait a few minutes if you couldn't walk straight onto a stand. The car park was really busy, had a look around Essex gun shop while we waited for a space too. Some nice stands especially for beginners. Shot well, loved down the line targets the best. Cheers

owo1-man
Went to Grahams on Sunday, first time on clay's for many a year, all very friendly and got to try some different guns out as well, would certainly recommend the site to anyone and you get a free airshow from the airfield next door. northernneil
Give Dartford a go too, not too far away. Staff are REALLY helpful there's many different disciplines to try.
Berettacocker
Give Dartford a go too, not too far away. Staff are REALLY helpful there's many different disciplines to try.not in essex, but just over the bridge. Very good. Also JJs near bluewater which is very beginner friendly ,especially for youngsters.

Uncle Albert
They have very good coaches at the Fennes. Something for everyone. Gets quieter later on in the day as they do a lot of corporate days. Similarly, Dartford is a good ground and not that far. The problem is getting over the bridge but they have everything there, Sporting, DTL, Skeet, UBT, compact. Fennes is open till 8 on Tuesday and Wednesday and Dartford till 8 on Thursday
