hedd-wyn
Hi all Mrs Hedd has kindly bought me a Swanndri Bush Shirt (yes the Hobbit version with the hood) as a birthday present. With the weather getting warmer now I doubt I will be able to test it out properly. It seems well built and I'm not a fan of synthetic outers anyway so I'm sure I will be more than happy fishing and beating with it. Although I am fully aware that there will be some quality stick flying my way on the shoot. Anybody else familiar with these? I would be interested in your thoughts and opinions. kent
I like their stuff, worn the shirts for ages. They had some quality issues a while back when they started having them made outside of NZ (stitches coming loose etc but I am sure that's all sorted) Wool is remarkably warm when wet unlike any synthetics. I once had an impromptu swim in mid winter at night out on the marsh and I am sure my Ranger shirt helped hold off the hypothermia that might have set in if I was wearing full synthetics
saddler
Had a quick visit to their factory shop when I was down that way. I'd personally stick with the items that are NZ made. They also do a DPM shirt/coat for the NZ Army - never lucked into finding one of those when I was there, sadly...
Sussexboy
I have one that I have been wearing for the last 27 years, not continuously mind, but it has lasted well. (Although it has "shrunk" a bit over the years)
