I have a lee balance beam set but fancied a digital pair for speed and double checking as well as being able to weigh the whole cartridge which you struggle to do on a balance beam.Have you got a pair of the above as I looked on eBay but it's pot luck with Chinese **** , I was looking at claygame they do a set for £22 some thing like CBC powder and shot scales, but not seen any reviews on them
sitsinhedges
I've had a couple of sets of thesehttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300674919288?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 and they've been fine for shotshell reloading. Electronic things being what they are I'm glad to also have the Lee beam scale to double check occasionally. They're UK stock so you get them promptly and they do grains though you're better to convert to grams so you can check shot without constantly swapping. Guest cookoff013
@sits and JP i`ve got the same set and they are fine. i think sss here uses them too. i also use the balances at work, they are an analytical type. so i can have any weight to compare to from a fancy £10k set. super sharp shooter
They will do the job fine. Just remember to check the calibration and if there out change the battery.
alijnclarke
I've got a Hornady GS-1500, think it was about £30, seems to do the job very well for me. I'm wanting to get a Chargemaster (or similar though)
super sharp shooter
The problem with beam scales is that you have to empty the contents of the dropped powder/lead into the pan to weigh it,but with the electronic scales you can set a tare and weigh the contents of the shell. I have a cheap set of digital scales and a set of expensive ones and I find that the cheap ones are almost as good but not quite. So I weigh the lead on the cheaper set and the powder on the other set. SSS Edited May 12, 2014 by super sharp shooter
