2nd chance buck

Out on my ground this morning at 4.30am on a glorious sunny morning.

I spied a 6 pointer at the edge of a wood on a track , I started stalking in slowly but bumped another buck out of the hedge previously unseen :/ This buck bounced down the field barking and stopped around 100 yds away broadside , I had the crosshairs on him but saw he was only a spiker so decided to leave him and go for the 6 pointer.

On glassing the 6 pointer again I just caught sight of his white rump disappearing into the wood

I thought that was my chance gone for the morning but no . I followed the wood round and checked a squirrel trap which had an occupant so I was occupied watching this for a few minutes , I then turned round to see another buck staring straight at me, needless to say he bounded off barking as well ......

Well I certainly thought my luck wasnt in this morning so started heading back , but made my way to where I had seen the spiker an hour earlier and to my surprise there he was out feeding in the open. No 2nd chance for him this time. I got myself in to around 150 yds and took him off the bipod.

He had an unusual head with a spike sticking out the back................
