mattywall
Has anyone got any opinions on pcp seals drying out? I got mine changed 6 months ago and haven't shot it since :-/
Kes
I had a Logun, bought for my son who used my PCP. His seals dried out and the gun wouldnt hold a charge of air - £25 for a new set fitted by local gunsmith and immediately put it up for sale. Michael.b
Seals drying out! ? that's a first for me to here. i service allot of rifles mainly logun s16s. the only thing i can think of regarding the seals they are a cheap brand i use VETON its a hard wearing seal and never had any problems with them. i get the full set of seals for a logun for £12 plus p+p thinks its just under £14 in total. plus it depends as well weather or not they are using the right lubes on the right seals as-well. for eg the logun s16 uses molly grease and a none tacky black grease( i forgot what its called) and also a drop of oil in the slides. now there is the other thing with seals they like to be kept under pressure or they will shrink and once that happens time to replace them. chrisjpainter
yes. a pcp should always have a usable amount of air in them, especially if it's going to be inactive for a long time. (I'm assuming you mean the air cylinder, and not have the chamber of the gun loaded! that'd be a big NO, NO!)
team tractor
Sold mine as I used it twice a year and by that time it leaked again . Always leave fully charged and shoot a few dry shots every month
