That's cleared that up then, but this sounded suspect:

"when am cooking the birds all i can think of are the ones that i used to feed in the park when i was little why was there always one with a leg missing"

i was born a townie but my grandparents had a farm ,

we used to have pet geese and chicks and rabbits which me and my sisters would look after till chirstmas then we used to help my grandfather get then ready for either us or if he was selling them for other people which i think help teach us kids about country life at a very early age and how we should respect it and the people who livelilhoods depend on it and what makes me and sweepy really happy is that we have now past that love and knowledge on to our kids cause as we all no its the younger generation that will carry on fighting to keep that way of live going :)

Never a truer word spoken, I'm enjoying doing the same with my eldest Daughter (7 yr old), and then eventually with the younger one (10 months old).

Where abouts are you in North Essex?

SS

Lovely part of the world.... I used to live across the fields in Flatford

Unfortunately I am now near London

Hi Bagsy

We have been over those very fields this afternoon walking the spaniels gently introducing them to the water.

Wish I was up there - still visit often as mum lives there still, nice view of the Stour from the garden. Will be taking the kids up the river in a boat when the weather warms up (mental note to get fit first, always knackers me out that rowing lark!). Excellent rabbit country as well!
