Cycling problem

It is not a golden rule that auto's don't like short shells! Every auto I have owned shot short shells but I know not this Winchester!

Do both rounds in battery pop out together causing the jam?

If so then check the mag cut off is not bent into the side of the action, this is the piece you have to press in to empty the magazine yes!

Some are pressed steel and can get bent and so thus hardly keep the cartridge in the mag!

Let me know if it helps.

Try 70mm casings first. For some bizarre reason, that no one has ever adequately explained, a lot of semi autos just will not cycle reliably with carts less than 70mm in length. We have 2 semis here and neither will cycle 65mm carts. 67s and 70s cycle perfectly every time.

Every auto I had fed all of them it is not the problem here, it feeds, ok got that now

The problem is the mag interceptor/cut off. Quite possibly it's spring or it's pivot or it is simple bent.

Now lets see....two al48, a 720,oh yeah an 1100 and then there was the Benelli, oh and a Breda, a S.P.A.S., an Ithaca, a B80, no sorry two B80's, think that's it, anyway they fed long and short...ok :good:

most guns are made for or with the american market, the normal sized shells over there are 70mm. almost 99.99% of shooting is with 70mm.

the way that my pump action extracts, the internal side ejector spring need to be under some tension, this is opposite the ejection port. the 65mm the hulls do not get that much tension because the -5mm. the 65mm hulls have. because soon as the head is being pulled back. the hull is being angled to the ejection port. the longer hull gets more spring tension. the 3.5 and 3" come out with some force.

So....in the states for every million 70mm shot shells only one thousand other lengths are sold?

Hmmmm

yep about that. there are like 3 manufacturers of 2.5" over in the states.

You didna say 2.5" cookie! You said 70mm is 99.99% of all the shooting over there.

That implies very very little 3.5" 3" and 2.5" is bought!

What I am implying is and yes totally presumptuous of me it is, is that your figure of "99.99%" may not be totally true or accurate!
