Lord Geordie
Hi Chaps! SWMBO want's to visit her Son in Reading. We are looking for a cheap B&B for 3 nights while there! Do any of you chaps know of a cosy B&B or even RUN one and have availability for 21/07/14 to 24/07/14. We have found a few but the prices make it a no no. Were looking for a max of £50 per night for a double room! If there is no breakfast, thats not a problem as we can get a bite to eat elsewhere! Any leads greatly appreciated! Thanks. Lord Geordie
Hi Figgy! Colin sent me an application for His place. I filled it in and will pop it in the post this week! Feel stupid as it ask's about education etc. I flunked my exams, and picked up experience from my work places! I have no formal qualifications, other than NVQ I & II in warehousing and distribution and certification for Agriculture and Horticulture. Managed to get some overtime this week at work! Still trying go get more hours and get it contracted this time! Have to wait and see what is available or IF it's available! My folding caravan would be great! But my new car hasn't got a tow bar yet! I have been meaning to get it sorted, but the car is only capable of towing 850kg allegedly! The vans unladen weight is 650kg so may struggle when fully loaded! Can you PM me any info on the FLT jobs you found please? Thanks!
Lord Geordie
Oh! And as for cheaper! Not always the case! Fuel use goes from 45mpg to around 30mpg and then I have the cost of the pitch! Sometimes more expensive than some people think! Add breakfast at around £6 per day for both of us and it soon adds up! £35.50 for a pitch per night at Wellington Country Park! Just round the Corner from her Son! I would rather pay the extra few pounds and not have to wash dishes in the morning, or have to cook my own breakfast Edited June 25, 2014 by Lord Geordie

Griff36
B&B prices in Reading are sky high at the moment, there is a massive railway re-signalling project underway and the hotels/B&B's are full of contractors. You will probably be better off staying just outside of Reading, have a search around the Pangbourne or Goring areas.

deershooter
The travel lodge will be your best bet B&B around Reading normally costs over £50 each I have stopped in B&B all over the U.K. and have been paying £50 minimum for a single for the last 3 years . Look at it in a commercial way would you have two people sleep at your place wash the bedding clean the room cook breakfast wash up all for £25 each I fully understand your circumstances but you will be lucky to find anything don't wast time booking the travel lodge book early if you leave it late they go up in price ,also look on line for a voucher code to make it cheaper that will cover the cost of breakfast Deershooter
