stuy
Managed to get a few hours this afternoon been watching a field of peas, the bird numbers have definitely improved here in hereford. Found a nice spot right under a steady flight line , the peas have been badly grazed some good bare areas to drop the birds hopefully in, started at 12.30 pm with a flapper raised just on top of the peas, and magnet 20 yards further out from decoys a few shell decoys placed on top of the peas either side of the bare patch worked well, pigeon came nice and steady in small groups of 3 and 6 ish finished with 59 on the clicker and picked up 51 dropped a couple in the barley behind, and packed up for 4.30pm (would of stayed but wifey not well!) stuy
Good shooting. Are the peas still in flower? no mate they lost the flower a while back starting to go yellowish now , seen a few also dropping into some rape , with plenty of land to go still haven't found any laid barley, or wheat! As of yet , but still good signs that the woodpigeon numbers are well healthy here

Oh well good brownie points for me for later on I also had to pack up early last night and leave a field with pigeons still coming thick and fast. As you say there seems to plenty of woodies about so the 100+ days will come. Hope your Wife's back gets sorted soon.
ditchman
The 5 pea fields around me are about the same as yours............pigeons wont touch them ..the farmer hasnt even put his gas guns out....... but the flightlines on my patch are developing nicely, its all reverted to what it was like 3 years ago, will have to get out this week......
