Floating Chamber
Say...that is a new one to me Floating chamber! Thanks for the photo....does it work on Brownings system used on the Colt pistols? The patent belonged to David Marshall 'Carbine' Williams. The model 50 came out in 1949/50s. (Some in secret for testing) the Model 59 is the lightest, having a 'glass fibre' barrel.I have one of each and the '59 has the first screw-in chokes ever. The system was used in the Colt Ace .22. 1911 pattern, the Remington Semi - auto .22 and, during the war the M1919 Browning Machine Gun, all of these weapons functioned with .22 rimfire ammunition. SORRY COOK FOR HIJACKING YOUR THREAD! Carbine Williams pictured with his hand-built Model 50. This gun is now in the Museum at Raleigh, N.C. Notice, in the Benelli patent, a Williams patent is cited. This was an inertia operated shotgun. Only an experimental model was built. Benelli operates on a Williams invention. Guest cookoff013
Very interesting....thanks. Thanks Cookie. U. cool? kind of interesting, due to the low recoil thing. these shells were designed to be low recoil and clean, thats the key, clean, when the pressure is high enough it should burn clean. these ultra fast powders (ba10 is very fast burning being at #6 compared to vectan AS at #16, clays is at #31) they can perform at lower pressures, the consistency is quite good, especially for a load thats not generally running a powder right. most good loads need a great pressure of 9000psi-10,000psi to get going not just at speed but to consistently hit it constantly shot / shot. it is very easy to get high pressures, just put in more powder. but the problem with subsonics, is the ballance between giving enough powder, cleanly using all that minimal powder, to penultimately produce low velosity ammo thats consistant in doing so..... the recoil is really reduced too. thats why i did the load in the first place. kids and more mature individuals shouldnt be punished by modern loads. my AS subsonic load was ok but is still shooting 32g loads at stuff. not ideal for clays and shooting because it exceeds shot weight limits... the only straight downer of these loads are...... i got those results from a pressure gun not a ported silencer barrel, so speeds you get at home will be different. Floating Chamber
Perhaps Roughshooter can drop off a handful of his for me to try in the '59? Edited July 24, 2014 by Floating Chamber
Guest cookoff013
maybe, at a guess i think they have 8n/s of recoil or thereabouts.... i think the 32g load at same speed was 9n/s?
roughshooter
Perhaps Roughshooter can drop off a handful of his for me to try in the '59? I will load you a few in 7 1/2 to try out
rich1985
I use A0 for great 20gauge subs and that is a slow powder. Did you chrono your 'subs'? Sitsinhedges, could you please pm me your 20 gauge sub recipe? I think you did once before but I've had a bit of a delete session in my messages and I think I've accidently deleted it! Kind regards richard.

aussie black duck
I obtained some BA10 and did some Sub Sonic test loads. No chrono data, just ear test so far. WINCHESTER CF AA case Fiocchi primer Winchester Pink AA wad (1oz) 1 oz #9 shot First test: 13 grains of BA10 didnt quite sound subsonic to me. 10 grains did!! 🙂 I only have MEC bushes in 16 and 14 - no #15 😞 so I loaded a box with the 14 bush at 9.5 grains. Hope to test them on skeet targets on Wednesday. 🙂 If they work OK and are consistent, I will load some rabbit size shot (3's?) and see how it goes on the vermin.
