Recommended Posts

I will try some different loads this week end at 150 yds 3 x 3 shot groups with different seating depths and post up the pics, i could even use the cam corder. I'll see what the weekend brings.

second thoughts i will go out to 200. :good:

Crimping with a lee crimping die definitely tightened up my groups with the .223 and the hornet, more so with the .223. The only other thing I can add and its already been mentioned is consistency, I try to do everything exactly the same every time.

The only problem with crimping is it's the only bit not constant.

Unless you have a lee constant crimp lmao

Ow god more money.

Nar still think crimping is a marmite affair.

Another thing crimping will help with is that it will keep the bullet tight in the case in a sporting rifle where ammo is being loaded into magazines and unloaded again when not fired when out stalking . Ammo can be loaded and unloaded several times before being shot through the rifle .

I have only ever lost a bullet from its case when working with very light neck settings, even when you want a bullet out of the case its not like they fall out easy when you use std factory dies. Big Game rifles crammed into smaller length magazines are an exception

I don't mean that bullets will fall out of the cases wholesale . But they can get a cant on them from multiple passing through the magazine and being chambered and un chambered causing a loss in accuracy
