Rs2 springer
I have acquired this rifle quite recently has anyone used or have any info on it
MrPhantom
I had one of these in .22 also. Nice gun - basically the same as a standard Mercury springer but with much fancier woodwork and a better scope rail. Shot many rabbits with it in my youth. Eventually had problems with the barrel jamming open after cocking which was a shame, never really got to the bottom of the cause. I believe they are quite rare and very sought after as they were only produced for a short time in the '80's. Decided to sell it on a few years ago, it sold in minutes on the BBS! bruno22rf
Certainly should hold its value-the Challenger was the final incarnation of the Mercury and was an updated "S" as far as I can tell-the scope rail being the major difference-the model only survived a year before being discontinued. The demise of the Mercury was down to the import of far better quality guns from Germany and the usual British ability to sit back and rest on its laurels and failing to reinvest in its products. I have a Mercury S and love it but if I have to use an older gun for whatever reason I would reach for a HW80 or the even older FWB Sport.
