pegasus bridge
Yesterday afternoon I decided to make the most of the nice weather and have a quick session piking with lures on a large local river ( ). I managed to get a pike of about 6lb on the 3rd cast about 15 yards from the far bank, followed a couple of casts later by a small jack from the margins. They both took a large 30cm 'real eel' lure, it was almost as big as the 3lb jack! moved a few more pegs, saw a few more pike but non commiting, had another one on the last peg i fished and managed to get a passing walker to take a pic. Cracking couple of hours out, pike were fighting hard in the warmish water we have at the moment.
Penelope
Well, that's the bait caught. Those Savage real eels are very good.

pegasus bridge
They weigh about 60g each, they cast surprisingly well given the shape of them.

kent
Make good baits in the surf for Striped Bass those should, Actually wobble with live ones on the Eastern Seaboard up to about a foot long!
Dougy
Best bait I used was a small jack about 1lb caught in Loch Allen, (I was naughty back then) I hooked into what was the biggest pike i had ever seen, definitely in the high 20s. But unfortunately wasn't banked because if snapped the hook off the treble. I broke down and cried, well could have done. Lol

Lol I won a pike fishing match at Chasewater, staffs when i was about 12, using a live 12" pike i caught in the stream running out of it with the net! Pike are very canibalistic.
