bostonmick
Any gun purchased from my rfd new or used gets a complete check and clean before being sold in their workshop by the gunsmith.all that packing grease should have been cleared before you got it.atb

figgy
Mine was still in its box when I got there, just been delivered. Not all dealers have an on site gunsmith to do this. Your lucky your local has. Figgy Edited October 12, 2014 by figgy

3jackwhite3
I haven't got an o ring on mine either but in the instruction manual it does say something about an o ring? I'll have to have a proper look when I get home later.
Crumpler1991
My father inlaw bought one today i feel they are going to be very popular
figgy
Has it come out of the inside of the valve when you took it apart? They should be popular as they're a fantastic gun to shoot. Figgy
Crumpler1991
Where the piston is?
figgy
Yes the valve that stays in the ring on the barrel, it can be removed gently when the barrel is off for cleaning. I'd check the I ring isn't out of there. Think it might seal the piston/mag tube to the variable valve. Item 57 might be the I ring inside of the valve as said above Figgy Edited October 13, 2014 by figgy
Crumpler1991
Does the o ring go between the piston and the valve? Cheers for the pic figgy thats great
figgy
It's stuck on your mag tube now so I'd assume it's been pulled out of its recess in the valve/piston and makes a seal to the tube. Figgy

Crumpler1991
Should the o ring be on the piston like this? http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/Crumpler1991/media/imagejpg1_zpsd0e98e1a.jpg.html

fendrover90
The o ring usually sits trapped in the fore end
Gin steady shooter
Pick mine up this afternoon, shot 75 carts of 70mm 32g To part break in. Cycled flawlessly. Will be using for ducks and geese soon. One question; manual says no carts shorter than 70mm. I have a large number of 65mm shells in 32g that I would like to use in the a300 extrema, but don't want to go against what manual says. Has any one tried carts shorter that 70mm in theirs? Cheers
figgy
Yes some will work. 67 mm don't seem to bother it. Try it and see if it jams,if it does use a 65mm cart as your first shot and load into the chamber every time till used up.no cycling issues then. Or use two by floating a second 67mm on the lifter under the bolt and just put one 70mm in the mag. Figgy
Guest stevo
mine will cycle 24 grm / 65mm carts no problem , but as figgy says just try it .
Gin steady shooter
Thanks figgy and stevo, assuming mine does cycle them; are there any potential hazards firing 65mm carts when manual says use carts not shorter than 70mm? Or could this damage the gun? sorry to appear anal, but I'm new to autos. Cheers

Gin steady shooter
Cheers, forgot to ask before; label on the case says to avoid fibre wad carts, can someone explain why that is? Can fire wad carts be used in this gun?

Can fire wad carts be used in this gun? Where does it say that Of course you can use them . Put a picture up . The sticker on case just says to run in with 32 grm carts . The same as it does in the book . I have used nothing but fibre wads . I think you have misunderstood it somehow .
